The Nation of Islam of Canada - Who Are We

• The Nation of Islam of Canada consists of registered believers and followers of Islam as taught by the Hon. Elijah Muhammad under the leadership of the Hon. Minister Linwood X.

• The N.O.I.C. was officially established by the Hon. Min. Linwood X in the summer of 1997.

• The N.O.I.C. is an independent branch of the Nation of Islam and is not affiliated with any branch of the N.O.I. in the U.S.

• The N.O.I.C. adheres to Islam as it was taught by the Hon. Elijah Muhammad.

• The goal of the N.O.I.C. is to establish the program of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad in Canada, the Caribbean, the U.S. and beyond.

• The N.O.I.C membership consists of various nationalities from the Caribbean (Haiti, St. Vincent, Barbados, Jamaica, etc.), Canada and the United States.

• Members of the N.O.I.C. are social workers, students, entrepreneurs, professionals, skilled laborers etc.

• Members of the N.O.I.C. speak French, English, Creole and Spanish.

• The N.O.I.C. publishes the Muhammad Speaks newspaper, which is distributed in French and English in Canada and the east cost of the U.S.

• The N.O.I.C. promotes unity of Blacks from the Caribbean, Africa, Canada, the U.S. etc.

• The N.O.I.C is working toward the development of the Black community through education, business, job and leadership training, drug, alcohol and crime rehabilitation, prison outreach, manhood and womanhood training for youth and adults.

• The N.O.I.C is open to work with any organization and/or individuals interested in the development of the Black community.

Saviour’s Day

February 26th – The yearly celebration of the birth of our Saviour Master Fard Muhammad, Allah (God) in Person born February 26th, 1877.

Ramadan

The month of December – Month long period of fasting. No eating or drinking during the day light hours.

“I have chosen (for quite a few years) the month of December for my followers to fast as in the month of Ramadan. It serves as a sign that we (the Lost and Found Nation) are the end of all signs pertaining to the pilgrimage and fasting in the month of Ramadan.” (Elijah Muhammad)
